Your New York City Fishing Experience

Stay up to date with the latest fishing conditions and species activity in New York City, brought to you by Captain Jared Weigel of J Rod3 Charters. New York’s coastal waters offer incredible variety throughout the year, and these reports reflect just how diverse your catch can be. The changing seasons bring fresh fishing opportunities, and our reports highlight the patterns as they unfold.

Captain Jared shares more than just stats—these reports include helpful notes on bait preferences, productive depths, water temperatures, and gear recommendations. It's the kind of real-time local knowledge that can turn a slow day into a successful one. Whether you're fishing inshore or venturing farther out, staying informed can make a big difference.

Rockaway Beach - Queens, NY Fishing Report on 16th Jun, 2026 - 1

6/14 Sun we had Steve and the gang out today for a combo bass and fluke trip. Another beautiful morning on the water. We got our live bait early and headed out, picking away at some fluke first thing and putting 3 nice slabs in the box before switching over to bass. The bass bite started off a little slow, but once the tide began to rip, the fish turned on and started chewing. We managed a good number of slot fish, along with a few overs that were safely released. We also lost a few quality fish that managed to find the structure and cut us off. Overall, it was a great day on the water with good company, steady action, and plenty of fresh fish for dinner. Thanks for coming out, Steve and crew—always a pleasure fishing with you guys! 🎣🐟 #stripedbass #fluke #fishingcharters 1–6 MAN CHARTERS ARE WELCOMED Fishing aboard our 31ft JC Downeast—spacious, clean, and comfortable JROD 3 CHARTERS FAR ROCKAWAY NY 72nd Street Call or text 📞(516) 668-2093

Rockaway Beach - Queens, NY Fishing Report on 7th Jul, 2026 - 2

7/5(Sun) We Wrapped up a wonderful week of fluke fishing with a open boat fluke trip on sunday . We started out by bouncing around some rough bottom looking for fish, but only found short life. We kept moving around until we found a small piece holding good numbers of keepers , and from there we picked away at a solid mix of keepers along with countless shorts to keep the action steady. By the end of the day, we put together a nice pile of keeper fluke and capped off another great weekend of fishing. The summer fluke bite continues to produce, and now is a great time to get out on the water. Thanks to everyone who came out—we'll see you on the next trip! 🎣🐟 OPEN BOAT OR CHARTER AVAILABILITY 🎣 (7/11 SAT) FULL DAY OCEAN FLUKE 6AM-230PM 1–6 MAN CHARTERS ARE WELCOMED Fishing aboard our 31ft JC Downeast—spacious, clean, and comfortable 🎣JROD 3 CHARTERS🎣 FAR ROCKAWAY NY 72nd Street Call or text 📞(516) 668-2093

Rockaway Beach - Queens, NY Fishing Report on 13th Jul, 2026 - 3

🎣Weekend recap🎣 Oh boy, what a weekend! We kicked things off fishing the seaway marina fluke tournament with a crew of true fluke assassins ready for war. We grinded it out all day, picking through countless shorts and putting some quality keepers in the box. We knew we needed one big fish to have a shot, so we stuck it out through the rain and made our way back to the scales. It was a nail-biter, but we managed to take home 1st Place! We also came up just short in the 3 Biggest Fish category and fell just short of Biggest Sea Robin, but that's tournament fishing. Huge thanks to my awesome crew for grinding it out and bringing home the W! We wrapped up the weekend with Reno and the boys on an AM charter. We got an early start, and it paid off. The guys boxed a great pile of keeper fluke while catching countless shorts to keep the rods bent. By 11:00, the boys looked at me and said, "Let's head home—we've got plenty!" Another great day on the water and the perfect way to cap off an awesome weekend. Thanks again to everyone who came out, and we can't wait to do it again! Rockaway Beach - Queens, NY Fishing Report on 19th Jul, 2026 - 4

Sat 7/18 Had a weather window this morning, so we decided to give it a shot. 🎣 We got set up and had countless shorts to keep us busy, but not many keepers to show for it early on. We kept grinding and made a move to a piece of bottom we haven't fished in a while, and it paid off with some much better quality fish. Longtime friend Mario stole the show today, putting a beautiful fluke just over 6 lbs in the boat! 💪🐟 Great job, buddy! Looking forward to getting back out there. The ocean fluke bite is really starting to heat up. If you've been thinking about getting out on the water, now is the time! 1-6 MAN CHARTERS ARE WELCOMED Fishing aboard our 31ft JC Downeast—spacious, clean, and comfortable 🎣JROD 3 CHARTERS🎣 FAR ROCKAWAY NY 72nd Street Call or text 📞(516) 668-2093

SUN 7/19 Sailed with Rich and the boys for another summer fluke trip, and we weren't sure what to expect after Saturday's storms. Turns out, the fluke didn't mind one bit! The boys got right to work with countless shorts keeping the rods bent and put together a great showing of keeper fluke. After boxing a nice catch and having nonstop action, the crew decided they had enough and called it an early day. Thanks again, Rich and the boys—it was a pleasure having you aboard! 🎣🐟 If you're looking to get in on the hot summer fluke bite, now's the time. Rockaway Beach - Queens, NY Fishing Report on 5th May, 2026 - 1

Yesterday we kicked off our fluke season with decent action, catching a mix of shorts along with a few chunky keepers up to 5 lbs. We’re excited to add fluke to our trips once bass season winds down. The striped bass fishing has been nothing short of epic, with multiple fish on at a time until we run out of bait. With the warmer temperatures this week, the fluke bite should only improve—and we’re hoping to put a doormat on deck after chasing striped bass! THIS WEEK TRIPS AVAILABLE OPEN /FULL CHARTERS PM 🎣 9/6 Chunkin striped bass 5pm-11pm AM 🎣9/7 FULL DAY Striped bass /Fluke 530am-2pm

Rockaway Beach - Queens, NY Fishing Report on 18th May, 2026 - 2

SAT 5/16 PM Sailed on an open boat trip for the PM with a group of eager anglers looking to get their hands on some striped bass, and they weren’t disappointed. Got set up, started throwing baits out, and had fish on right away with 2 beautiful overs caught and released. We tossed some more baits out and waited it out, picking at them with a bunch of slots and a short before the tide died and the sun went down, basically killing the bite. We still managed to catch 8 fish for the night despite the reports we got we did really good nice going guys see you all soon. #stripedbass#stripedbassfishing #livebait #nycharterboat OPEN BOAT/CHARTER AVAILABILITY 🐟🐟 🎣🎣NOW IS THE TIME TO LAND YOUR PERSONAL BEST STRIPER 5/23 Sat 6am-1pm 🏆 TROPHY STRIPED BASS FISHING 1–6 MAN CHARTERS ARE WELCOMED Fishing aboard our 31ft JC Downeast—spacious, clean, and comfortable JROD 3 CHARTERS FAR ROCKAWAY NY 72nd Street Call or text 📞(516) 668-2093 See less
